VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy course is designed to equip you with the practical skills, knowledge and industry-required qualifications to do this confidently. 

Students require access to a PC and an internet connection to complete coursework and online exams.

VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy qualification can be completed in 24 weeks. However, with some flexibility, if required, you have up to 12 months to fully complete the course.

 VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy Course structure

Much of the vocational qualification is completed as home study, including written and practical coursework, making this ideal for students who wish to study flexibly around other commitments. 

The practical training days required for the course will run from 9.30 am – 3.30 pm.

First, you will learn the treatment theory and spend most of the training days acquiring and demonstrating your practical skills, with a 30-minute break for lunch.

Students will need access to a PC to complete the course work and online exams. Once you have completed training and coursework, you will arrange to attend assessment days to achieve your VTCT qualification.

Spread the cost of your training over six more straightforward manage, interest-free instalments, paid through direct debit, while still being able to begin your learning straight away! Using GoCardless, our EasyPay Direct Debit plan allows you to enrol for your chosen training package and pay only £99 upfront. 

This will enable us to book your first course. You will then pay the remainder of the course fees split over five equal monthly instalments, taken through direct debit.

• For a £400 (3-day package), pay £99 upfront & book one course. 5 x monthly instalments of £70 each, Book 1 additional training day after the third instalment & fifth instalment.
• For a £400 (3-day package), pay £99 upfront & book one course. 5 x monthly instalments of £72 each, Book 1 additional training day after the third instalment & fifth instalment.

Spread the cost via direct debit repayments over 12 months with just a 19% deposit upfront and reasonable interest (representative APR of 13.2% for 12 months*). We have a minimum repayment balance before diplomas can be issued; this is typically a minimum of £200 for two training days or longer courses. 

The first instalment will be taken around 28 days after the deposit. This makes it easy to spread the initial cost. In addition, you can choose your preferred payment date for the instalment direct debit payments, making it easy to plan repayments, e.g., taken on the 1st or 28th of each month.

It would help if you were 18+ with a UK address and held a UK bank/building society account.

While you are perfecting your practical skills at the same time, you will also be consolidating your theoretical knowledge. With our comprehensive study material from home, answer written questions in your electronic workbooks to submit as coursework. 

You will also be practising the skills you have learnt at our training centre on models (friends/family) at home, gradually building a portfolio of treatments to submit as your practical coursework.

AHBT assessment process will ensure that your techniques, from hygiene requirements to attention to detail, are at a satisfactory industry level. Assessment will re-affirm the skills learnt during your practical training. 

This course is hands-on and provides you with in-depth detail on a range of massage treatments. This course is designed to prepare you to begin your career within the industry. 

The qualification provides you with extensive career opportunities and is also internationally recognised, and demonstrates your ability to work to an industry-standard level of practice.

What are the course entry requirements?

AHBT diploma courses are suitable for complete beginners and do not require any prior learning to be able to train with us. Most of our students are not from the beauty industry. However, they are generally looking to start up a new business in the beauty industry. 

AHBT welcome students of all background, whether you are looking to learn a new skill or currently working as a therapist and looking to refresh your knowledge of treatments.

Students will need to have previously achieved GCSE English or equivalent to ensure they have a good command of spoken and written English to succeed within the VTCT qualification. 

In addition, students will need access to a PC to complete coursework and online exams.

As part of your practical coursework, you will give and receive body massage treatments. Students work upon each other, so models are not required. 

Training sessions can be mixed-sex depending on bookings made. However, we use privacy screens which are used to ensure all student discretion. 

Should you wish to attend a training day with same-sex students only in attendance. Please get in touch with us prior to booking so we can look at the best training date for you. 

All products and tools are provided for the training days when you attend. No kit is required to complete the training days, nor included in the course fee.

On the training days, you only need to bring a hand and bath towel for your personal use, a completed enrolment form and cold food for your lunch (e.g., sandwich/salad).

We provide study materials to assist you in the completion of your written coursework & in preparation for your assessments.

What qualification will I receive?

When you have completed your VTCT training course, you will receive a diploma certificate issued by The AHBT and accredited by AHBT. 

This demonstrates your commitment to the training and allows you to obtain Public Liability insurance to start offering treatments to paying clients from your clinic, salon, home or mobile.

Once you have completed your assessment, you will receive your qualification certificate (this can take up to 12 weeks to be released from the awarding body VTCT).

Additional work required to complete my qualification

Aside from your practical training, your course also involves home study and assessments as required by the awarding body VTCT. 

Our qualifications require both written and practical coursework to be submitted. An assessor marks them before you can be progressed to the assessment stage.

After booking your qualification, you will be sent your study materials which include workbooks, Student Study Guide, Practical Assignment document and our Student Handbook) to get you started with your coursework.

As you complete your practical training, you can begin working on your practical course assignment. 

You will require products/tools at home and models to enable you to complete the coursework/assessments needed to achieve the qualification.
